"He gives and takes away..."
This has been very true for our family this past month and as we sang the song at church on Sunday everything kind of came in to perspective. On Good Friday, March 21, my grandmother passed away. She endured almost a week and a half in the hospital while her body slowly shutdown. While this time was painful, it allowed us to spend a great deal of time together by her side and with my grandfather supporting him through this. This is my grandma holding Jed when he was just three weeks old. She loved her great grandchildren so much!
Most of my memories with my grandmother are from my childhood when we would go to Virginia each summer for a week. She would always take time to manicure our fingers and keep us up to date on virtually all of the soap operas she watched. When we would go out on the boat to fish or ski, grandma would always pack us sandwiches and snacks so we didn't have to lose time stopping for lunch. In later years, she would humor us with stories of family members and funny anecdotes. We will miss her deeply. On a happier note, my sister just gave birth to a beautiful baby girl on April 10.
Breanna Dasia was born right on time at 6lb 3oz and 18" long. She is so tiny! After holding Jed, she looks like a little peanut and Jed looks HUGE!!! I'm hoping that Bre will help Jed adjust to having his own little baby around. Which, by the way, we found out last week will be another boy. This one was not shy about it at all! So, come August, I will officially be outnumbered by boys in our family.

Aren't you already outnumbered?
Steve
I'm sorry about losing your grandma. I still miss mine terribly and it's been 8 years.
Congrats on the neice.
And on having another boy. At least you've already got the clothes this time around. You're set!
Personally, I'm hoping for a girl for us so we can officially be DONE.
The passing of a grandparent is hard. I am sorry for your loss and have been praying for you.
Congrats on a boy! Trust me ~ easier than girls.
